Now everyone always speculates how fun it must be to be in my line of work.... and don't get me wrong I love what I do very much, however it is not all fun and games as people think.I've been doing floral for 4 years now and I worked my way from the bottom of the ladder, which is not a fun place to be, though working your way up the ladder does feel good.
When I started all I did was cleaning up (sweeping floors, taking put garbage, washing vases, wiping counters) after messy designers who think because they're designers they don't have to pull there own weight, and my first Valentines Day I ended up working 14 hour days for a week and I was horribly sick from burnout। You could choose not to work it, but usually that results in cut hours or dismissal from the shop as no shop can do without every staff member on February 14th!
Well I'm off to play with flowers now.
